This year Lowwapaneu Lodge sent 9 youth delegates to the first ever NE-5 Conclave hosted at Forrestburg Scout Reservation by Na Tsi Hi Lodge 71. The weekend was filled with tons of shows, trainings, activities, competitions, and fellowship.

The weekend started out with a nice show and a cracker barrel. The food at this conclave was great. According to Bobby Hricko, the food was “Best food on this side of the NY border.” With the end of the night approaching near, the contingent went to sleep preparing for the day ahead.

The day started with a wonderful breakfast followed by a plethora of training to choose from. Training ranged from an introduction on High Adventure bases, to a session on how to successfully run a great Order of the Arrow Program during Summer Camp. Some training even included some American Indian Activities. The training were very beneficial to all that attended.

Later on in the morning, Lowwapaneu Lodge’s very own ceremonies team took part in a competition to see what lodge has the best Pre-Ordeal Ceremony.

After a magnificent lunch, participants were allowed to participate in many activities. Some activities includes the worlds longest monkey bridge over water, rifle and shotgun shooting, boating, and many other fun activities.

The day continued with a wonderful dinner. After dinner the Lowwapaneu Drum team drummed in a competition. The Pow-wow was a huge success. According to Steven MacDonald, “ The competition was a Hoot.” After a close competition, Lowwapaneu Lodge won first place in the Drum Competition.

After then, the closing campfire took place. Special guest celebrities showed up like Matt Smith and Section Vice-Chief Ben Oswald .The campfire was great and the whole lodge loved it.

The next morning was the Section election. Our very own Matthew Smith was elected Section Secretary for 2017-2018 With conclave starting to wind down, Lowwapaneu packed up and left camp, all ready for the 2018 Conclave that will be hosed by Unami Lodge, One at Resica Falls Scout Reservation.
