Lowwapaneu members visit Hot Dog Jonny's on the way home from the 2022 Section NE-5 Conclave

When one thinks of 2022 and Lowwapaneu 191, great things come to mind. Here’s an end all, be all review of 2022 for Lowwapaneu 191 and the Order of the Arrow!

In March of 2022, four of our members attended the first ever Eastern Region National Leadership Seminar and Developing Youth Leadership Conference, hosted at Camp Alpine in Alpine, New Jersey. One of our members, Paige Morgan, went on to staff the training for the remainder of the year. Cameron M., 2023 Vice Chief of Administration, also attended the course in Moscow, Tennessee, in November of 2022. Are you interested in attending the National Leadership Seminar? Reach out to our lodge adviser for more information!

Inductions this year were great! During our two Ordeals, we inducted a total of 75 new Arrowmen. Over the course of 2022, 39 brothers sealed their bond in Brotherhood. At our Spring Ordeal, 5 brothers were recognized for their outstanding service to Lowwapaneu and Scouting as a whole, and were called out for Vigil Honor.

The Section NE-5 Conclave was held at Camp Allamuchy, hosted by Woapalanne Lodge 43. Here, Lowwapaneu members were able to attend great trainings, shows, and fight for the Conclave Cup. The 2022-2023 section officers were elected and sworn in, and the new Section E17 brand was unveiled for the future of our section!

The National Order of the Arrow Conference was held from July 25-30th, 2022, at University of Tennessee Knoxville. Lowwapaneu Lodge sent a contingent of 16 members, and one staff member, to the conference. There were great shows, trainings, and activities throughout the week, and Lowwapaneu was able to give out their coveted Anthracite Diamond Seeds at the Ignite Festival on Friday. Captain Lowwapaneu even made a few appearances throughout the week at the nightly shows. Now, Lowwapaneu is looking forward to NOAC 2024, hosted at University of Colorado - Boulder!

On November 23rd, 2022, the new lodge officers for 2023 were elected at the November General Lodge Meeting. Chief: Britt B., Troop 16; Vice Chief of Program: Shayne M., Troop 16; Vice Chief of Administration, Cameron M., Troop 16; Secretary/Treasurer: Magnus E., Troop 132. Congratulations to our new officers!

The year was wrapped up at the annual holiday banquet, hosted at La Buona Vita in Dunmore, PA. The 2023 lodge officers were sworn in, new members of all honors were recognized, and many awards were presented. Congratulations to Rick Stritzinger, the 2022 recipient of the Founder’s Award, and congratulations to Matthew Motichka and Mark Gowarty, the 2022 recipients of the James E. West Fellowship. The largely anticipated game of “Prize or Punishment” was played, with popcorn and prizes, as well as Arrowmen getting silly-stringed as a great way to end the year.

Overall, 2022 was a great year for Lowwapaneu Lodge 191. Here’s to 2023, and the great success to come for our lodge and our Order!
